Who we are

The Learning Pod has been established with a vision to provide a nurturing environment where students not only excel academically but also grow spiritually, guided by Biblical Christian principles.

Using the A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education) curriculum supports our vision through an individualized learning style.

Characteristics

  • The learning pod is under the direct oversight of the Pastors/Elders of North Edmonton Christian Fellowship.

  • At Solid Rock Learning Pod, we start each morning with devotions, and prayer is a part of the day. We utilize a curriculum with a strong Biblical foundation, which emphasizes the characteristics of Christ.

    We ensure that each of the staff working with our children have a strong Biblical foundation and a relationship with Christ.

  • The “Learning Pod” operates with policies, rules, and operating hours. Each classroom has a Supervisor and Monitor. The Pod is supported by administrative staff and volunteers to assist with the daily functions of learning, schedules, and office duties.

  • Students at Solid Rock Learning Pod can expect to spend their mornings focusing on their core subjects in a self-directed learning environment.

  • Each afternoon at Solid Rock Learning Pod, students engage in interactive group activities such as Sport, Art, Music, Health, and Special Projects.

Non-Core Classes

  • Sports

    Our Sports classes are designed to keep students active and engaged through a variety of sports, games, and team-building activities. Students will improve their coordination, strength, and endurance while learning the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

  • Music

    Our weekly music class is a fun and engaging experience where students explore the joy of music through singing, rhythm, and movement, as well as develop a heart to worship. Designed to foster musical appreciation, lessons include interactive activities that develop listening skills, coordination, and a basic understanding of musical concepts.

  • Art

    Our weekly art class inspires creativity and self-expression through hands-on projects in drawing, painting, and mixed media. Students explore different artistic techniques and develop their own unique styles. With a focus on imagination and skill-building, this class helps young artists gain confidence while bringing their ideas to life!

  • Projects

    We engage students in various projects, integrating multiple subjects. These projects help foster a deeper understanding of concepts while building essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership.

  • Devotions

    Every morning, we hold devotions with the students, providing an opportunity to share the Word of God, pray, and worship before starting the day.
